Questions or something not working? Email support@stickermint.com with your store's .myshopify.com address and, if it's about one item, its name. We reply within one business day.

Getting started

  1. Install Mint Translate from the Shopify App Store.
  2. On the app's home page, pick a language your store already has, or choose one under Add a language. A free scan lists your content and estimates the words to translate.
  3. Click Translate. Translation runs in the background and saves progress as it goes; you can close the page. Progress and results appear under Activity.
  4. Open the Editor to review. Filter by what needs review, edit a translation, mark fields as reviewed or re-translate one field.
  5. Click Publish next to the language, then make sure it's added to your markets in Shopify's Settings → Languages (the app links there). Your store then shows the language, for example on /de/ URLs.

What gets translated

  • Products: title, description, product type, SEO title and description, options and option values, image alt text and translatable metafields.
  • Collections, pages, blogs and blog posts, menus and menu links, storefront filter labels, metaobjects and your home page SEO.
  • Text you entered in the theme editor (sections, header, footer, theme settings, app embeds).
  • Optional, off by default: your theme's built-in text (buttons and labels). Most themes include these for common languages; switch it on in Settings if yours doesn't.

Not translated: URL handles (so links and search rankings keep working), store policies (legal text deserves a professional translation), and e-mail notification templates.

Your edits are safe

The app remembers every translation it writes. Any translation written or changed by someone else — you in the editor, Shopify's own translation tools, or another app — is never replaced by automatic translation or auto-sync, even when the original text changes. The editor shows such fields as Your translation and flags them with Original changed when you may want to update them. To replace one with an AI translation, use Re-translate with AI on that field.

Formatting, links and variables

HTML tags and attributes, links, e-mail addresses, Liquid variables such as {{ amount }} and your do-not-translate terms are replaced by placeholders before translation and put back exactly afterwards. If the AI moves or drops a placeholder, the app rejects the answer and translates the text between the tags piece by piece instead, so your markup can't be damaged.

Glossary and tone

Add brand, product line and model names under Glossary to keep them exactly as written, or set a fixed translation per language for a term. In Settings you can choose a formal or informal tone for languages that have one (for example Sie/du in German). The Free plan uses 3 glossary terms; Pro up to 500.

Auto-sync (Pro)

When you save a product or collection, the app re-translates the fields whose original text changed a few minutes later. Pages, blog posts, menus, theme text and metaobjects are checked once a day. New content is translated too. Turn auto-sync off in Settings.

Language selector

Most themes (including Dawn and Horizon) have a language selector you can switch on in Theme settings, in the header or footer. If yours doesn't, switch on the Language selector app embed from the app's home page (Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds). It uses Shopify's own language form, loads no scripts and appears only when your store has more than one published language.

Common questions

My language doesn't show on my store. Check that it's published and added to a market under Settings → Languages, and that your theme has a language selector.

Some fields weren't translated. Fields you (or another tool) already translated are kept. Fields that couldn't be translated safely are skipped and listed as missing in the editor; click Translate missing on that item.

Translation paused. You reached the month's word allowance. It continues automatically on the 1st of next month (UTC), or right away if you upgrade.

Can I use it with Shopify's Translate & Adapt? Yes. Both save to the same Shopify translations. Mint Translate never overwrites translations it didn't write.

Billing

The Free plan translates into 1 language, up to 5,000 words a month. Pro is billed through Shopify at $9.99/month after a 7-day free trial and includes unlimited languages, up to 500,000 words a month, a glossary of up to 500 terms and auto-sync. Words are counted in your original text, once per language. There are no per-word charges. Cancel anytime from the app's Plans page or by uninstalling.

Privacy

See our privacy policy, terms and security policy. In short: the app works with store content, not customer data.
